First thing’s first:
THOA - pronounced like the French pronoun “toi”, which rhymes with “moi”.
NGUYEN - Looks gutturally painful to pronounce but it’s just simply “win”.
Now a bit about my work:
I love what I do. It’s dynamic, unpredictable, exciting, rewarding, and creative. It allows me to be hands on, obsess over details, contribute to the bigger picture, learn new skills, leave work covered in sawdust or paint, and think critically about color and form.
What do I do? It’s difficult to describe singularly, as is with most freelance work. I’ve gotten to be a jack of all trades in and around the art department for film, TV, commercial, and digital content. But to put simply, the job titles that I’ve held are: Production Designer, Art Director, Set Decorator, Food Stylist, Props Master, Set Dresser, Art Assistant, Graphic Designer, Set Designer, Scenic Artist, Painter, and somehow, even, Actress.
When I am not either working on set or sitting in a dark cinema engrossed in a film, I find ways to stay productive by both working on personal projects and collaborating with other creatives on passion projects. Feel welcome to reach out if you have any questions/thoughts on my work, would like to collaborate or if you just want to talk about the latest A24 film!
